Nghe An Province Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2 was assigned the task of receiving, arranging accommodation, living, and organizing teaching and learning tasks according to the High School Education Program for 29 Lao students.
These are students who have been accepted for Vietnamese language training according to Decision No. 2880/QD-UBND dated October 30, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee and completed the training program, approved for admission to grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year.
Of which, Xieng Khouang province has 6 students; Hua Phan province has 6 students; Bolikhamxay province has 6 students; Vientiane province has 4 students; Savannakhet province has 3 students; Khammouane province has 4 students.
Laotian students are entitled to training support policies according to the provisions of Resolution No. 22/2023/NQ-HDND dated December 7, 2023 of the People's Council of Nghe An province.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province assigned the Department of Education and Training to guide and direct the Provincial Boarding High School No. 2 to manage and pay training support funds for international students according to current regulations; at the same time, review and synthesize funding needs to send to the Department of Finance for consultation and report to the Provincial People's Committee to ensure compliance with regulations.

Implementing the policy of expanding training for high school students, from the 2023-2024 school year, Nghe An is the first province in the country to organize the reception of 31 Lao students from 6 provinces of the neighboring country (Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, Bo Ly Kham Xay, Vientiane, Kham Muon, Savannakhet) to study Vietnamese language preparatory courses and supplement secondary school knowledge before studying the 2018 general education program at high school level.
These first batch of international students have just entered grade 11.
Studying high school in Nghe An helps Lao students develop their Vietnamese language skills, qualities and skills to meet the requirements of international integration, while also experiencing the Vietnamese cultural environment early. This is also the foundation for improving the quality of study at university, vocational and postgraduate levels in Vietnam.
