On June 1, Israeli media reported that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had canceled his visit to Israel, scheduled for next week. Previously, Israeli public opinion had speculated that Mr. Blinken would make a quick visit to the country as part of his regional tour.

However, disagreements over Iran are believed to have led to the US decision. Israeli leaders have expressed deep concern about the possibility that Washington could ignore the Jewish State's concerns and move forward with a new nuclear deal with Iran.

According to Israeli media, in recent times, US officials are said to have participated in many discussions on the nuclear issue with mediation from Oman, Kuwait and several other countries.

Currently, Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi and Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer are participating in discussions in Washington with the US regarding the Iran nuclear dossier and the relationship between the Islamic State and Saudi Arabia.
