Loc Ha residents exterminate more than 70 thousand rats to protect crops

Flooded fields after heavy rains are a good opportunity for farmers in Loc Ha district ( Ha Tinh ) to take advantage of the situation to exterminate more than 70 thousand rats.

Accordingly, from October 10 to 16, after the floods, the fields were flooded, rats had no place to live, localities in Loc Ha called on farmers to participate in the movement to destroy rats to protect crops, especially the upcoming winter crop of 2023 and spring crop of 2024.

Most communes and towns have deployed troops to carry out the method of digging holes, pouring water, smoking, shooting with slingshots... In nearly a week, the whole district has destroyed about 70 thousand rats; of which, the most are: Ich Hau 21 thousand rats, Thach My 18 thousand rats, Binh An 12.5 thousand rats...

People collected the rats and buried them according to proper procedures to protect the environment.

To encourage people to participate in rat extermination, some localities provide financial support (1-2 thousand VND/rat) or calculate the days of rat extermination as compensation for the annual labor days of families working on traffic and irrigation in the fields.
