Mr. Ho Tuan Anh, Principal of Quynh Phuong Secondary School (Hoang Mai town, Nghe An ) shared that he could not hold back his tears when he witnessed the image of a man in the pouring rain asking to meet him to submit a tuition exemption application for his children. This man introduced himself as the uncle of two students studying at the school. The children's mother was taking care of her husband in the hospital so she could not bring the application in person.

In the application for confirmation of difficult circumstances, the mother wrote that her 37-year-old husband had recently suffered an unfortunate work accident that resulted in a spinal injury and required emergency treatment. He is currently completely paralyzed and is still being treated at Vinh City General Hospital, Nghe An Province.

“Since the day the children’s father had an accident, I have had to stay in the hospital to take care of him, so I have not been able to work. Currently, the cost of my husband’s treatment is very high, and the family has had to borrow money. I cannot work, so the economy is very difficult,” the mother wrote, hoping the school would consider reducing tuition and other fees for her two children.

After correctly identifying the situation of the two students in his school (the older sister is in 8th grade, the younger sister is in 6th grade), while the family does not enjoy the poor/near-poor household policy, Mr. Tuan Anh told the homeroom teachers not to urge the two students to make contributions for now.

“I think if they don’t receive timely support from the school and philanthropists, they will have a lot of difficulties and even be at risk of dropping out of school,” Mr. Tuan Anh shared.

Sympathizing with the situation of the two students, Mr. Tuan Anh took to Facebook to call for support for tuition fees, insurance money... for the children.

“For now, I only ask for two health insurance premiums for the two sisters. The school will gradually cover all other tuition fees,” the principal wrote.

Mr. Tuan Anh said that not long after he posted, someone expressed their desire to support the students with health insurance. After that, a former student of his also contacted him to help two students with two tuition fees for this school year.

“This is a small but necessary and more urgent action than ever to encourage the spirit of the students and the mother who is still devotedly taking care of her husband every day. I would like to thank the teachers and students of the school for sharing the difficulties. I just hope that the students will try to overcome the difficulties to continue studying,” said Mr. Tuan Anh.
