Not only does it collect outstanding articles by journalist Tran Duc Chinh - Ly Sinh Su, but many valuable memories and lessons in journalism from this veteran journalist are also respectfully and affectionately recounted by friends and colleagues in the book "Don't Say It Well " which was released to readers on June 18 in Hanoi .

Ly Sinh Su belongs to the "four pillars of general theory"

According to journalist Tran Dinh Thao - a colleague and friend of journalist Tran Duc Chinh, in 1994, the name Ly Sinh Su began to appear in the column "Say or Don't " of Lao Dong newspaper.

Ly Sinh Su is associated with "provocative" style commentary - daring to declare war on bad habits and even paradoxes in life.

His articles not only appear in Lao Dong newspaper but also appear regularly in weekend and monthly issues and special issues of several other newspapers.

Later, people learned that Ly Sinh Su was journalist Tran Duc Chinh (also known by the pen names Ha Van, Tran Chinh Duc, Duc Chinh), former deputy editor-in-chief of Lao Dong newspaper, editor-in-chief of Nha Bao & Cong Luan newspaper.

Journalist Tran Dinh Thao estimated that in the first 10 years of putting aside the "Say or Don't " column, he wrote an article every day for the column, about 3,600 articles in the form of journalistic skits in 10 years.

Including articles published in other newspapers, in those 10 years he wrote about 4,000 articles.

After retiring, he continued to write for the column "Say it well, don't " for another 10 years. He wrote about 6,000 "trouble-making" articles in total.

There are thousands of articles "causing trouble" with society, with officials, with mechanisms, with wrong things in life but causing "addiction" for many readers.

According to journalist Huynh Dung Nhan, with his humorous political style and strong writing ability, he was named one of the "four pillars of non-fiction" in the Vietnamese press.

The joker and his unique journalism "tricks"

In the book, the section of articles by colleagues about journalist Tran Duc Chinh shows the special respect that colleagues, especially juniors, have for this journalist.

Colleagues not only respect him but also the simplicity of a "journalist" who is not a "journalist" at all, a "teacher" of many young journalists.

Journalist Huynh Dung Nhan was very impressed with his senior's intelligent but not sarcastic humor.

"You are a real joker. You can joke, be funny, and make jokes about everything.

He has a knack for lightening the mood, softening dry topics with witty jokes.

That is his own unique style, his own style, of the column "Say or Don't . Satire without anger", Huynh Dung Nhan wrote about Ly Sinh Su.

Journalist Vu Thu Tra is very grateful to Mr. Tran Duc Chinh for the very valuable lesson in journalism that she learned. That lesson is to know how to do journalism in… the restroom.

Journalist Vu Thu Tra said that at the end of 1994, the recording device was as big as a hand and could not be hidden when needed to operate in investigative situations...

Journalist Tran Duc Chinh gave his young female colleague a lesson: There are details and numbers that if not recorded or written down immediately, will be forgotten.

The most reasonable thing to do in that case is to ask permission to go to the restroom and take the opportunity to write down the information.

The book "Don't Speak Well" is 472 pages long, consisting of 4 parts, collecting articles of many genres in Tran Duc Chinh's journalism career such as skits, reports, memoirs, essays; and articles about Tran Duc Chinh by colleagues.

According to journalist Tran Dinh Thao, the colleagues who compiled this book have published the entire professional portrait of journalist Tran Duc Chinh: he is not only a unique writer on current events and commentary, but also a sharp reporter and writer of delicate and graceful essays.
