Journalist Nguyen Duy Cuong, former Permanent Deputy Director General of VNA and former Chairman of the VNA Journalists Association, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on September 29, 2025 (August 8, At Ty year), at the age of 81.

The visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the National Funeral Home, 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi .

Funeral service and procession from 10:30 the same day, cremation at Hoan Vu Crematorium, Van Dien, Hanoi. Burial at hometown cemetery.

With his outstanding contributions to the press and information work in general and to the career of VNA in particular, journalist Nguyen Duy Cuong was awarded the 45-year Party membership badge, the Second-class Labor Medal, the Second-class Resistance War Medal against the US for National Salvation, the Medal for the cause of journalism, and the Medal for the cause of the News Agency.

Recently, in June 2025, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the Cuban Journalists Association, authorized by the State Council, awarded journalist Nguyen Duy Cuong the Felix Elmusa Medal, the highest award of the Cuban Journalists Association for Cuban and foreign journalists with outstanding achievements./.
