Of the 80 newly appointed department heads and deputy heads at a medical university, nearly 30 are currently directors and deputy directors of hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.

The University of Health Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has just announced the decision to appoint heads and deputy heads of departments of the school, including nearly 30 directors, deputy directors, directors of research institutes and former leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health .

They will be taking charge of departments in the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy, College of Health Sciences .

These are new personnel among about 80 heads and deputy heads of departments of 5 faculties: medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, traditional medicine and nursing that have been assigned tasks.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan - Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Principal of the University of Health Sciences - said that the school has quality human resources when talented and dedicated doctors who are leaders of major hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City have chosen to stick with the school, working side by side with the school to carry out the mission of training medical human resources.

Completed organizational structure

The University of Health Sciences was established in June 2024, on the basis of the development of the Faculty of Medicine of Ho Chi Minh City National University. After 6 months of operation, the school has completed its organizational structure, built the Party Committee; school council; and board of directors.

Currently, the school has 7 functional departments, 5 faculties and 3 affiliated centers. The number of permanent staff is 282 people. Of which, there are 5 professors, associate professors, 31 doctors (including level II specialists) and 137 masters.
