On September 26, Ms. Pham Thi Xuan Hong, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Communications, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety, said that the Department of Food Safety had received the news and was coordinating with local authorities and functional agencies to verify this incident.
Many residents complained on the apartment group in Long Binh ward on September 26 after some people had to be hospitalized due to symptoms such as fever, vomiting, stomachache and continuous diarrhea.

A resident of this apartment building said that she and her youngest son had symptoms of food poisoning after eating bread on the afternoon of September 24. By noon on September 25, they started having diarrhea, did not want to eat or drink anything, and started to have a fever. By the afternoon of the same day, they had a high fever and continuous diarrhea, so they had to go to a local clinic to get an IV. According to the initial diagnosis of the doctor here, she had a viral fever, but when she returned home, her condition did not improve and she continued to have a fever accompanied by vomiting and continuous diarrhea, so she had to go to Hoan My Hospital for emergency treatment on the evening of September 25.
Doctors diagnosed her with an intestinal infection 10 times more severe than normal people, requiring high doses of intravenous medication to treat it. Her son, despite eating only a small amount of bread, also had symptoms of food poisoning, but less severe than hers.
Some other residents said they also had stomach aches and a slight fever after eating breakfast, including bread bought at a store in the apartment complex. Initially, they thought it was a normal stomach ache, but when some children in the apartment complex came home from school still complaining of stomach aches, their families learned that many classmates also had similar symptoms. Many other residents in the apartment complex said they had to go to the hospital with similar symptoms.
After seeing many people showing signs of food poisoning, residents reported the incident to the Long Binh Ward People's Committee on the afternoon of September 25.
