In the history of the Vietnam People's Army, many Generals have left great marks in the revolutionary cause and in defending the Fatherland.

However, when mentioning "General of the movements", people often think of General Nguyen Chi Thanh - a person who is not only outstanding in the military field but also the soul of many vibrant patriotic emulation movements, especially during the resistance war against America.

General Nguyen Chi Thanh left the country great legacies, especially while he commanded the Southern battlefield as Secretary of the Central Bureau, Secretary of the Military Commission of the Region and Political Commissar of the Southern Liberation Army.

In his role as a movement general, he also proposed movements such as Coastal Waves to build industry for the North, and the Three Firsts movement in the army to organize the building of a regular, main force, and modern army.

During these historic August days, when the whole country is looking towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, let us join in the joy, happiness and freedom of an independent country.
