Present at the construction site, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hai, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the efforts of the Management Board, contractors and workers. He also requested all parties to be more urgent and determined, "working during the day is not enough, take advantage of working at night" with the goal of households moving into their new homes before December 20, 2024.

Previously, representatives of 35 households eligible for new housing were organized by the commune government to draw lots to choose apartments. According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Nghi, Secretary of the Coc Lau Commune Party Committee, the drawing took place in two rounds. Round one was to draw in order, round two was to draw lots to choose one of the 35 houses.

She shared that with the support of people across the country, the help from local authorities and businesses, she has now rebuilt a new house in a new location (previously she lived with her parents-in-law). As for the house allocated in the reconstruction area, she gave it to her mother-in-law to live in. "Later, when the children have their own families, they can come and live with her" - she thought so.

Mr. Chang A Thai is very excited because he is about to move to a new place.

Chang A Thai, one of the households that had to flee the flood along with village chief Ma Seo Chu, also expressed his excitement because he was about to move to a new place. Originally a poor household, working hard all year round but not having enough to eat, the house he is currently living in has deteriorated a lot, and is now located in an area at risk of landslides. With the attention of the Party, the State and the support of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, he and his wife and children now have a solid foundation for their lives.
