From being unfamiliar with participating in local activities, Ms. Dang Thi Thu Hong (residing in Rach Chanh quarter, Khanh Hau ward, Tay Ninh province) has now become a "support" for many poor and near-poor households and people in difficult circumstances in the area.

Being involved in local activities since 2008, Ms. Hong has taken on the role of Hamlet Chief, Head of the Women's Association (WUA) of Rach Chanh Hamlet, Loi Binh Nhon Commune (now Head of the Residential Area, Head of the Women's Association of Rach Chanh Residential Area, Khanh Hau Ward). No matter what task she takes on, she always takes the effectiveness and joy of her work as motivation.

Ms. Hong believes that studying and following Uncle Ho's example does not necessarily have to be big actions, but can be small but meaningful actions for the community. In recent times, she has not only performed well the assigned tasks, but also been a pioneer in volunteer activities. Realizing many cases of housing difficulties, she mobilized and connected with benefactors to support funding for house construction and repair. From the beginning of 2025 until now, she has mobilized the construction of 4 houses and repaired 1 house with a total cost of 520 million VND.

Not only helping the poor and people in difficult circumstances "settle down and make a living", the 55-year-old woman's journey of love is also extended by many meaningful activities such as giving gifts to students in difficult circumstances before the new school year; visiting and giving gifts to support children, disadvantaged women and people in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Lunar New Year and the 15th day of the 7th lunar month; maintaining the operation of the charity kitchen from the time of the Covid-19 epidemic until now; mobilizing funds to support people with serious illnesses; giving health insurance cards;...

“Taking on many tasks, I come into contact with many different situations through neighborhood meetings, association meetings and visits to the grassroots. From there, I understand the thoughts and difficulties of the people to find appropriate ways to help. I am fortunate to have many benefactors, friends and relatives accompany and support funding for charity activities,” Ms. Hong shared.

For a long time, the people here have no longer been bothered by the image of a middle-aged woman with dark skin, riding a motorbike to participate in most of the volunteer activities in the area. Thanks to that timely attention, many cases have had the opportunity to improve their lives, up to now, the neighborhood still has 2 poor households and 11 near-poor households.

With many meaningful activities, in recent times, Ms. Hong has received many certificates of merit from the province to the grassroots level, in which she was praised for studying and following Uncle Ho's example and was awarded the "For the cause of promoting learning" Medal./.
