Meritorious Artist Do Ky confirmed that he had sent the application, but the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said 'he had not received it yet'.

On November 27, responding to a VTC News reporter, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, Chief of Office and spokesman of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , said that the Ministry had received information that Meritorious Artist Do Ky had submitted a petition regarding the suspension of consideration for the title of People's Artist.

However, the Ministry's spokesman said that up to now, the Ministry has not received the application from Meritorious Artist Do Ky. Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet said: "If we receive the application, we will handle it according to our authority."

Meanwhile, Meritorious Artist Do Ky confirmed with VTC News reporter that he had sent a petition to relevant authorities since November 24.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism confirmed that it has not received a petition from Meritorious Artist Do Ky.

Previously, on November 24, Meritorious Artist Do Ky filed a petition after receiving a notice that his application for the People's Artist title was "rejected". According to the notice the actor received, the reason his application was shelved was because of a complaint and the opinion of the Ministry of Public Security , so he was not eligible to be considered for the People's Artist title.

In the petition, Meritorious Artist Do Ky hopes that the competent authorities will clarify the following issues: Who is the petitioner? What is the content of the petition? Does his file have the opinion of the police? If so, what is the opinion?...

Meritorious Artist Do Ky affirmed that in 44 years of studying and working (including 2 years, 2 months and 20 days in the army, belonging to Division 323, Quang Ninh Special Zone and then at the Vietnam Drama Theater and the Art Department, Department of Performing Arts), he has never violated the law, always complied with all policies of the Party and laws of the State.

"My application for the 10th People's Artist title was approved by the grassroots level when it met the criteria and conditions, and was sent to the Central Emulation and Rewards Committee, but because of a petition, it was temporarily left behind (According to Notice No. 604/TB-NTBD). However, I was informed that the issues raised in the petition were clarified by the Department of Performing Arts working with the Vietnam Drama Theater as having no basis, or in other words, it was a slanderous petition. So is it appropriate to "temporarily leave behind" my application?" - Meritorious Artist Do Ky asked.

At the end of the petition, Meritorious Artist Do Ky hopes that leaders and competent authorities will consider and answer questions, restoring prestige and honor to individuals, families and artists in general.
