Vinasun changes clocks, adds "price fixing" feature

Vinasun Corp., one of the major traditional taxi companies, has replaced the taxi meter with a fare display screen and added a "price fixing" feature for all customers using taxi services.

Specifically, Vinasun taxis will install fare display screens instead of meters. Passengers will clearly see the fare or predetermined price of the trip through the fare calculation software.

With the new “fixed price” feature added to the vehicle, when the passenger boards the vehicle and announces their destination, the driver will enter the information into the app. The fare for the trip will be determined and announced to the passenger. If the passenger agrees, the amount will be displayed on the fare display screen.

In case the passenger has not determined a clear destination or the route may change during the trip, the fare will be calculated based on the actual distance according to the digital map, multiplied by the published fare.

Fares are displayed continuously on the screen for passengers to track throughout the journey.

Customers using the "price fixing" feature include: Customers booking a car through the call center, waving a car directly on the street, picking up a car at the airport and customers using the service at Vinasun's marketing points.

According to Vinasun, the outstanding benefit of the above feature is the fixed fare, passengers will know the price of the trip in advance, avoiding unexpected costs. At the same time, it is flexibly applied to all forms of booking.

In particular, the fare display screen in the vehicle helps customers easily track and confirm prices, ensuring fare transparency.

Traditional taxi company Vinasun changes technology after changes in the company's shareholders.

At the end of December 2024, Mr. Le Hai Doan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of HIPT Group, announced that he had purchased more than 2 million VNS shares, increasing his capital ownership ratio at Vinasun to 8.96%, for investment purposes.

In contrast, Vinasun's long-time shareholder Tael Two Partners Ltd sold shares and is no longer a major shareholder of Vinasun.

It is known that Mr. Le Hai Doan is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors and major shareholder at HIPT Group Joint Stock Company.
