Thien Cam Beach (Cam Xuyen District, Ha Tinh ) is nearly 4 km long, with flat sand and emerald green water. It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in North Central Vietnam, welcoming more than 10,000 visitors per day at peak times.

However, in recent decades, Thien Cam beach has been "suffocated" by 46 kiosks of households selling food and seafood. The existence of a series of kiosks with inviting signs has made the space of this tourist area become stuffy.

At the end of September 2023, the local government mobilized workers and machinery to clear 46 kiosks along Thien Cam beach. The total cost of dismantling was about one billion VND, and the infrastructure to upgrade the tourist area after clearance was more than 170 billion VND, drawn from the provincial budget.

According to VTC News reporters, after dozens of business kiosk owners simultaneously dismantled the construction blocking the way to the sea, the front of Thien Cam Tourist Area, Ha Tinh has become more open. From the shore, you can see the cool blue beach, with an unobstructed view.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Thao (owner of a seafood kiosk on Thien Cam beach) said that after receiving the demolition notice, the family removed the furniture inside a week ago.

"Although we feel regretful, we completely agree with the clearance plan. We hope the government will soon arrange a new site so we can resume business soon," said Mr. Thao.

Thien Cam beach tourist area is more open than previous years.

Restaurant owners simultaneously dismantled their business kiosks.

Excavators and concrete breakers operate at full capacity.

People moved all reusable items out of the kiosk area.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Huong - Head of Thien Cam Beach Tourist Area Management Board said that to mobilize people, the government has a policy of returning money to restaurant owners who terminate business contracts before the deadline.

"Thien Cam beach resort will have a more airy frontage and develop many types of services after demolishing the kiosks. Regarding the new business location for the people, the provincial People's Committee leaders have surveyed and approved the district's proposal, which is a good sign," Mr. Huong added.
