Strive to make the National Institute of Intellectual Property a leading research unit on intellectual property.

On the afternoon of July 1, 2025, in Hanoi, the Party Cell of the National Intellectual Property Institute held its first Party Cell Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress comprehensively assessed the results of the 2020-2025 term and set out directions, goals, and key tasks for the coming period.

Overview of the Congress

The Congress took place in the context that the Party Cell of the National Intellectual Property Institute had just been established under Decision No. 41-QD/DUB dated April 29, 2025 of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology on the basis of merging the Party Cell of the Intellectual Property Science Institute and the Party Cell of the Institute of Patent Research and Technology Exploitation.

At the Congress, comrade Nguyen Huu Can, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Acting Director of the National Institute of Intellectual Property, said that in the 2020-2025 term, the two predecessor Party Cells of the Institute, the Party Cell of the Institute of Intellectual Property Science and the Party Cell of the Institute of Patent Research and Technology Exploitation, had made efforts to successfully complete the assigned political tasks. Party building work in terms of politics, ideology and ethics was focused on; 100% of Party members fully participated in the study programs of the Central Resolutions and Directives, seriously implementing Directive 05-CT/TW on studying and following the ideology, morality and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh.

The Party Cell has also done well in scientific research, training and education on intellectual property management, exploitation of intellectual property information and appraisal of intellectual property. The Party Cell focuses on improving leadership capacity, fighting strength and implementing the principles of democratic centralism, collective assignment of work and individual responsibility. All cadres and civil servants are stable in political ideology, highly united, confident in their work, clearly define their duties and responsibilities, ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks.

During the 2025-2030 term, in the context of the IP development policy continuing to be prioritized by the Party and the State, the central role of IP in the knowledge economy is increasingly affirmed, the Party Cell of the National IP Institute commits to achieving the goal: The Institute's staff and civil servants continue to strive to improve their professional qualifications, become more proficient in their profession, and grow in experience, striving to make the National IP Institute a prestigious state organization, ranking first in research and development activities on IP.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Tran Duc Trung, member of the Party Committee's Organizing Committee, highly appreciated the Party Cell of the National Institute of Intellectual Property for organizing the Party Cell Congress seriously, and the content of the political report was carefully prepared and of high quality.
