Rare 21kg python discovered crawling into a house

A rare 21kg reticulated python was discovered by local people, captured and handed over to authorities for care and protection.

On June 17, a leader of the People's Committee of Ea Tar commune (Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province) said that the unit had just coordinated with the forest rangers to complete the handover of a rare reticulated python weighing about 21kg to the Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue and Forest Protection Center of the province for care and health monitoring.

A 21kg reticulated python was handed over to the Elephant Conservation Center, Animal Rescue and Provincial Forest Protection Management.

This python was discovered on the night of June 14, when it crawled into a chicken coop of a household in Kdóh hamlet, Ea Tar commune. The family of Ms. VTH, the owner of the household, organized a safe capture, then proactively notified and handed it over to the local authorities.

After verification, the forest rangers and the Commune People's Committee coordinated to receive and carry out transfer procedures to the Elephant Conservation Center, Animal Rescue and Provincial Forest Protection Management.

Reticulated python ( scientific name Python reticulatus ), an animal species in group IIB - a list of endangered, rare forest animals that need protection.
