Vice President visits and congratulates Vietnam Doctors' Day in Ho Chi Minh City

On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27), Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited and congratulated the leadership of Military Hospital 175 ( Ministry of National Defense ) and Thong Nhat Hospital (Ministry of Health).

On the morning of February 26, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited and congratulated the leadership of Military Hospital 175 (Ministry of National Defense) and Thong Nhat Hospital (Ministry of Health) on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27). Here, the Vice President advised that doctors must constantly improve their skills, qualities, and medical ethics, and fulfill their mission of taking care of people's health. Major General, Doctor, Doctor Tran Quoc Viet, Director of Military Hospital 175, said that Military Hospital 175 is a strategic general hospital at the southern end of the Ministry of National Defense, performing the tasks of medical examination, treatment, emergency care, and treatment for people; participating in caring for and protecting the health of senior officials of the Party, State, and Royal Cambodian Army. The hospital conducts research, applies, and develops medical science; trains level 2 field hospitals to participate in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force; organizing military medical forces in Truong Sa, ready to provide emergency aid to islands; preventing natural disasters, floods... In recent years, Military Hospital 175 has built a spacious, modern, prestigious, high-quality facility, a team of doctors and nurses who examine, treat and care with care, professionalism and thoughtfulness with the motto "All for the health and satisfaction of patients." The image, brand and reputation of the Hospital have become a trusted address for health protection and care for soldiers and people in the Southern region as well as in the whole country. On average, every day the Hospital organizes medical examinations for 2,700-3,000 people, admits and treats 1,600-1,800 patients. Proud and appreciating the impressive results that Military Hospital 175 has achieved in recent years, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan said that unlike other medical facilities, the hospital's medical staff must undertake two parallel missions, the mission of a physician and the mission of a soldier of Uncle Ho's army. Regardless of their position or mission, the military doctors have excellently completed their tasks, gaining the trust of the people, completing the medical mission of the islands and especially enhancing the position and image of the country in the eyes of international friends when participating in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force. The Vice President suggested building and developing Military Hospital 175 into a multi-purpose, specialized military medical center, on par with the region and the world; continuing to build facilities, equip modern equipment, and apply advanced technologies of world medicine in medical examination and treatment activities. The Vice President hopes that the hospital will build a strong team of cadres, civil servants, and medical staff in terms of ethics, skills, qualifications, and capacity to complete its tasks. In particular, in any context, the doctors of Military Hospital 175 must maintain the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the qualities of people's doctors. Previously, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited and congratulated the leadership and medical staff of Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. This is a first-class general hospital under the Ministry of Health with the main task of examining and treating mid- and high-ranking officials of the Party, State, armed forces, and people of the southern provinces.

The Vice President said that 69 years have passed since Uncle Ho's letter to the Conference of Health Workers in 1955, his teachings still hold true. He reminded health workers to be truly united and love patients as if they were their own flesh and blood, "doctors are like kind mothers"; and to build a medical system based on the principles of science, nation and the masses. The Vice President praised the efforts of the Thong Nhat Hospital team, despite many difficulties, but they have saved resources to take better care of the health of staff and people. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan hopes that Thong Nhat Hospital will continue to expand the scope of medical examination and treatment so that more and more people can benefit from the hospital's medical examination and treatment results, while still focusing on the task of taking care of staff's health. The team of doctors and nurses will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity to carry out their tasks in the new period, constantly improving their skills and medical ethics./.
