Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung: Select strategic technology products to have immediate impact on production

DNVN - On the morning of September 9, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung chaired an important meeting with ministries and branches in Hanoi and the Government Headquarters to discuss the selection of a list of strategic technology products that need to be prioritized for immediate implementation.

According to a report from the Ministry of Science and Technology , Decision 1131/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2025 of the Prime Minister has identified 11 technology groups and 35 strategic product groups. From there, the Ministry of Science and Technology has shortened the list to 6 products to select 1-3 strategic technology fields or products that need to be prioritized for implementation.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has completed the list of strategic technology products to be deployed in 2025, including: Large language model and Vietnamese virtual assistant; 5G mobile network system and equipment; AI camera processing at the edge; Blockchain platform for traceability and digital assets; Autonomous mobile robots and Unmanned aerial vehicles.

Strategic technology products are selected based on three criteria: solving Vietnam's major problems of economic growth, two-level government, increasing labor productivity, ensuring national defense, security and social security; improving Vietnam's competitiveness and enhancing Vietnam's level of technological mastery.

Of these, 3 products are prioritized for immediate deployment: Large language model and Vietnamese virtual assistant, 5G mobile network system and equipment, and AI camera processing at the edge.

 

The choice must be accurate and correct, bringing about immediate, clear impact.

Concluding the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung basically agreed with the principles and criteria for analyzing, evaluating and selecting priority strategic technology products. However, he emphasized that the selection of strategic technology products must take into account the readiness of enterprises, long-term development factors in the world market, and can have immediate impacts on production, labor productivity, economic growth and social security.

"The selected products must be accurate and correct so that they can be implemented immediately, focusing on key points and creating immediate breakthroughs" - the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister paid special attention to the ability to master core technology. He called on ministries and sectors to promote research experience, even combat experience, to create competitive products.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Science and Technology to preside over and coordinate with ministries and sectors to research the most necessary products for each industry, affecting value growth, from there analyze, evaluate and propose, "order" the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Ministry of Science and Technology will order research units with the aim of meeting market demand, solving problems of industries and positively impacting the economy.
