“Copilot is a smart assistant, a companion that helps me speed up my coding by 30-50%. The ability to suggest standard code, automate repetitive tasks, especially the agent mode feature that can analyze the entire project, even fix errors by itself. That has really raised my programming experience to a new level. In particular, I can interact with GitHub Copilot in natural language, like a real colleague, helping me understand the code more deeply,” shared Mr. Pham Tien Thanh Dat, Project Manager of AMIS OneAI of MISA .
Now, thanks to GitHub Copilot, he has more time to build new features or review and optimize system issues.
MISA, a Vietnamese software company providing a variety of digital solutions in areas such as finance, marketing, and human resources for nearly 400,000 corporate customers and 3.5 million individual customers, has deployed GitHub Copilot for 450 programmers. The company has recorded that each programmer saves about 16 hours per week. For new applications, up to 80% of the code is generated by GitHub Copilot; for existing applications, this rate also reaches 30%. As a result, code development time is shortened, the average productivity of programmers also increases by more than 40%, even increasing by 150% to 200% for individuals.
From there, MISA can develop and deliver software to customers faster. Typically, AMIS OneAI – a “Make in Vietnam” unified AI platform developed by MISA for Vietnamese organizations and individuals to access AI in a practical way at a more reasonable cost – was able to launch the first version after only 2 weeks instead of one to two months as before.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, MISA Technology Director, from these changes, MISA also reshapes the way resources are exploited: programmers are encouraged to hone their skills in solution thinking, cloud computing, AI and teamwork. They do not just stop at the role of "coder" but become personnel with a voice in the product creation process - in line with the global trend when coders are shifting to "solution creators".
Mr. Pham Tien Thanh Dat also said: “Instead of just focusing on completing individual tasks or fixing errors, I can now participate in designing overall solutions, choosing the right technology and analyzing risks at a macro level. Having an AI assistant has gradually turned a “classic” programmer like me into a “solution creator".
In the next year, MISA plans to deploy GitHub Copilot to all 1,000 programmers across the system. MISA also plans to deploy Microsoft 365 solutions to enhance security and protect against data loss for all employees. The goal is not only to optimize operations, but also to create a modern working environment where people.
