Bai Chay Ward: Building a civilized, modern, and unique coastal city

For many years, Bai Chay has been a key tourist destination with the most modern socio -economic infrastructure of the province. The ward has a modern, synchronous regional transportation system, such as: Bai Chay Bridge; Ha Long - Cai Dam - Hung Thang road; seaport system, international passenger port, cable car, 5-star hotels, Sun World amusement park, Vinpearl Ha Long resort, commercial center...

In the coming term, Bai Chay clearly defines the goal of tourism - services continuing to be the spearhead economic sector, modern trade and cultural industry as development pillars, contributing to making the locality become the "nucleus" in the chain of national and international tourist cities.

On April 12, 2025, at Sun Carnival Square, the Sky Wave Ha Long show with the participation of singer Son Tung M-TP brought eye-catching performances to more than 10,000 spectators.

In recent years, Bai Chay has had a strong attraction for tourists. Most recently, during the April 30 - May 1, 2025 holiday , Bai Chay welcomed over 300,000 visitors. During the first two days of the September 2, 2024 holiday, Ha Long welcomed nearly 289,000 visitors, of which hotels, beaches, night markets, and sea squares in Bai Chay attracted the majority of visitors. In particular, every year during the Ha Long Carnival event, Bai Chay attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to visit and relax. Bai Chay is always in a state of "full rooms" with room occupancy rates at major hotels such as Muong Thanh Grand, Novotel, Premier Village... reaching 80-90%, even not enough rooms on the main holiday. The above figures show that Bai Chay is like a "magnet" attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists during peak times.

Immediately after operating the 2-level local government model, Bai Chay has launched a campaign to rectify the tourism business environment; worked with large corporations and enterprises to speed up the progress of infrastructure projects and tourism business. The ward has implemented many groups of solutions: Building a plan to develop "multi-experience" tours; organizing night art shows; maintaining and forming walking streets, coastal night markets, outdoor performance spaces; eco-tourism routes connecting the sea - forest - city... Bai Chay aims to become an "emotional transit station" in the journey to explore Quang Ninh, instead of just a resting stop.

Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Chairman of Bai Chay Ward People's Committee, shared: All plans and strategies in the new development phase closely follow the ward's strategic vision of "Proud of Heritage - Developing from Heritage - Prospering with Heritage". This is not just a slogan, but a development pillar, concretized by plans and actions appropriate to the potential.

In the period of 2025-2030, the ward will continue to effectively implement the motto of "taking public investment as the lead, activating social investment", focusing on attracting investment in public service works, neighborhood cultural houses, high-quality schools, coastal parks, rest stops, and small wharves serving eco-tourism.

At the same time, promote the application of digital technology in urban management, build civilized urban wards, meet smart standards, and be friendly to people. Strive to achieve 100% waste and wastewater treatment rate, 100% lighting and clean water rate, forming a "3 no" ward: no waste, no beggars, no tourist solicitation.

The development orientation of the ward in the coming period all converge on the major goal of building an ecological, rich, civilized, and affectionate ward, the core in the chain of national and international tourist cities, making an important contribution to the sustainable development of the province.

With a locality that has all the conditions of "heavenly time - favorable location - harmony of people", along with high political determination and consensus of the people, Bai Chay ward after the merger not only plays the role of a tourism and service center of the province, but also becomes a new symbol of a civilized, modern, and unique coastal city in the new era of development.
