On October 27, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province announced that it had issued a decision to allocate funds from the provincial budget for education in 2023 to support district People's Committees with meal allowances for students of ethnic boarding schools; living expenses for ethnic minority students; and tuition fees for the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year and the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year. The total amount is nearly 4 billion VND.

According to this Resolution, additional support for meals for high school students studying at provincial ethnic minority boarding schools and district ethnic minority boarding schools is 600,000 VND/student/month according to the actual number of months of study and not exceeding 10 months/year.

At the same time, students who are ethnic minorities with permanent residence and study at universities and colleges in the form of full-time training will be supported with a level of 2.7 million VND/student/month according to the actual number of months of study and not more than 10 months/year. The Resolution takes effect from April 3, 2023.

Implementing the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee has allocated funds from the education sector to support increased meal allowances for high school students studying at ethnic minority boarding schools and living expenses for ethnic minority students in the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year and the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year.

The amount of support for pupils is over 2,947 billion VND and for university students is over 977 million VND. It is known that the above policies have contributed significantly to supporting and encouraging ethnic minority children to study, improving the quality of human resources for communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
