Quang Ngai urgently directed to review and evacuate people from areas at risk of landslides.

On the evening of September 14, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Hoang Giang signed an urgent dispatch requesting localities to review and proactively evacuate people in areas at risk of landslides to safety.

In particular, heads of departments, branches, sectors, chairmen of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities draw experience from the response to storm No. 3 and the recent rain and floods after the storm in the northern provinces, and continue to thoroughly grasp and fully implement the directives.

Currently, in Quang Ngai province there are many points at risk of landslides.

Take full responsibility for implementing flood and storm prevention work and responding to landslides, hill landslides, and urban flooding in the area...

In particular, focus on checking and reviewing residential areas, houses, headquarters of agencies and units in the area (especially in mountainous areas), located in areas with high risk of landslides and flash floods, and must have early and specific plans to ensure the safety of people in the area; proactively and closely monitor the development of natural disasters, promptly evacuate people in the area to a safe place.

The Department of Industry and Trade directs owners of hydroelectric reservoirs to check safety conditions of the works; comply with reservoir and inter-reservoir operation procedures approved by competent authorities.

According to the assessment of the Quang Ngai Hydrometeorological Station, in the coming time, natural disasters will be very complicated, the risk of storms, rain and floods occurring in the area is very high and in the province there are many places with high risk of landslides and flash floods when rain and floods occur, which can affect people in the area, especially in mountainous districts.

It is known that currently in Quang Ngai province, there are cracks on hillsides and mountainsides with a high risk of landslides.
