In one day, Quang Tri held a ceremony to launch the airport project worth nearly 6,000 billion VND and to start construction of the 480-hectare industrial park project in Hai Lang district.
On the morning of December 15, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province jointly organized the groundbreaking ceremony of the Quang Tri Industrial Park project in Hai Lang district, invested by a consortium of 3 units including: Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited (VSIP); Amata Bien Hoa Urban Joint Stock Company (under Amata Group Thailand) and Sumitomo Corporation Japan. The leader of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province said that the Quang Tri Industrial Park project was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 418/QD-TTg dated March 23, 2021, with a land use scale of more than 480 hectares and a total investment of over VND 2,000 billion. The project is built in 3 phases; of which phase 1 has an area of about 97 hectares, with a total investment of over VND 500 billion.

This is an industrial park with modern infrastructure, investment projects in the industrial park are oriented towards a green industrial park model, renewable energy, with commitments to environmental protection and solutions to support the conversion to clean renewable energy and reduce waste and emissions, in line with the country's orientation for rapid and sustainable development. At the groundbreaking ceremony, the leaders of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province requested units to actively coordinate, support and create all favorable conditions for investors to achieve the set plans and goals. Focus on removing difficulties and obstacles, ensuring security, order and labor safety to soon put the project into operation. On the same day, Quang Tri province held the launching ceremony of the Quang Tri Airport project. The project was approved by the Prime Minister in December 2021, and the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee approved the feasibility study report in August 2023. The project meets the standards of a level 4C airport according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), capable of landing code E aircraft and a level II military airport to meet the needs of operating up to 5 million passengers/year and 25,500 tons of cargo/year. The project's objective is to meet the increasing demand for air transport, contributing to promoting political , economic and social development, in line with the planning and orientation of transport development. At the same time, it ensures high mobility in defense as well as in rescue and relief work, ensuring national defense and security of the Central region in general and Quang Tri province in particular. vtc.vn
