Acting President offers condolences to President Putin after terrorist attack in Russia

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also sent a message of condolences to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. On the morning of March 23, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said: "We were extremely shocked to receive information about this barbaric terrorist attack and would like to send our deepest condolences to the Russian Government and people, as well as the families of the victims." Vietnam strongly condemns acts of terrorism in all forms and firmly believes that the perpetrators will be punished appropriately. According to the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, no Vietnamese citizens have been recorded as victims of the incident so far. Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy is closely coordinating with local authorities, closely monitoring the situation, and preparing necessary citizen protection measures in case of an accident. The Embassy has also advised the community to limit their presence in crowded areas and regularly monitor and update information. According to Russian media, at least three gunmen dressed in combat uniforms stormed into the Crocus City Hall shopping mall and concert complex in Moscow and opened fire, killing more than 60 people and injuring at least 145, including many children. This is one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Russia in decades.
