Due to the impact of storm No. 3 ( Yagi ) and the request to close a number of airports by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, today, September 7, airlines have also canceled a series of flights.
Vietnam Airlines plans to cancel and adjust the operating hours of more than 110 flights. Accordingly, the airline will cancel 34 flights and adjust the operating hours of 78 other domestic and international flights.
On September 7, Bamboo Airways will cancel a number of flights such as: QH1540 (Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong), QH1547 (Hai Phong - Ho Chi Minh City), QH1421 ( Hanoi - Da Lat), QH1422 (Da Lat - Hanoi), QH103 (Hanoi - Da Nang), QH104 (Da Nang - Hanoi), QH1213 (Hanoi - Quy Nhon), QH1212 (Quy Nhon - Hanoi), QH1415 (Hanoi - Nha Trang), QH1416 (Nha Trang - Hanoi), QH242 (Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi), QH255 (Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City), QH244 (Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi), QH275 (Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City).
Vietjet Air also canceled 18 flights to and from Hai Phong (Cat Bi Airport) from 5:00 to 16:00 on September 7; canceled 67 flights to and from Hanoi (Noi Bai Airport) from 10:00 to 19:00 on September 7; and stopped operating 4 flights to and from Thanh Hoa (Tho Xuan Airport) from 12:00 to 22:00 on September 7.
“Other flights are also expected to adjust their operating times due to the storm,” said a Vietjet representative.
These airlines expressed their regret in having to change their flight plans due to weather conditions to ensure absolute safety for each flight and hope to receive the understanding of passengers in this unexpected situation.
Flight times may still change depending on the storm's developments and the authorities' operations, so passengers planning to travel to/from airports in the affected areas should continue to monitor and update information to proactively plan their schedules. The airline will notify customers of any further schedule adjustments via the contact details on their tickets.
Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has temporarily closed four airports to ensure safety in operations.
Specifically, Van Don International Airport (Quang Ninh) temporarily stopped receiving and operating aircraft from 4am to 4pm on September 7. Cat Bi International Airport (Hai Phong City) temporarily stopped receiving and operating aircraft from 5am to 4pm on September 7.
Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) stops receiving and operating aircraft from 10am to 9pm on September 7. Tho Xuan Airport (Thanh Hoa) stops receiving and operating aircraft from 12pm to 10pm on September 7.
The Civil Aviation Authority assigns aviation meteorological service providers to regularly monitor and update meteorological bulletins and forecast the time when airports can be put back into operation. In case the airport can be put back into operation early, the aviation meteorological agency must promptly report to the authority to adjust the airport's operating time accordingly.
The Civil Aviation Authority also assigned the General Director of the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to develop a flight management plan for Noi Bai International Airport after the storm, ensuring the harmony of flight operations based on the principle of prioritizing long-distance flights, international flights, and domestic flights. The Air Transport Department fully meets the take-off and landing times of the compensated flights due to the impact of storm No. 3.
