On June 30, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) said that in the past 6 months, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, with the spirit of "Discipline and Unity" of miners, along with synchronous, flexible and drastic solutions, TKV's main targets have basically met and exceeded the set plan targets.

In June 2025, TKV consumed about 3.5 million tons of coal, of which coal delivered to thermal power plants is estimated at 2.95 million tons.

In June, most of the group's coal mining units achieved and exceeded their plans. Raw coal production in June was estimated at 3.24 million tons, equal to 104.6% of the monthly plan; the accumulated output for the first 6 months was estimated at nearly 21.1 million tons, equal to 55.4% of the yearly plan and 103.2% over the same period. TKV also produced nearly 3.4 million tons of clean coal in June; the accumulated output for the first 6 months was estimated at 20.82 million tons, equal to 56.6% of the yearly plan and 103% over the same period.

Total tunnel meters dug by TKV in June is estimated at 25,290m, equal to 105.7% of the monthly plan; accumulated in 6 months is more than 138,500m of tunnel, equal to 50.6% of the yearly plan and 106.3% compared to the same period; earth and rock excavation is estimated at 14.18 million m3 ^, equal to 109.2% of the monthly plan; accumulated in 6 months is more than 83.5 million m3 ^, equal to 54.5% of the yearly plan, equal to 107.2% compared to the same period.

In July, TKV strives to produce 2.6 million tons of raw coal, produce 2.84 million tons of clean coal, and consume 3.78 million tons.

Mineral and chemical units continue to maintain production with high output. Alumina production in June is estimated at 133,750 tons, equal to 107% of the monthly plan; cumulative 6-month output is estimated at 756,870 tons, equal to 58.2% of the annual plan, equal to 103% over the same period; Alumina consumption is estimated at nearly 173,400 tons, equal to 145.8% of the monthly plan; cumulative 6-month output is estimated at 766,000 tons, equal to 58.9% of the annual plan and equal to 103.5% over the same period....

Electricity production in June is estimated at 868 million kWh, equal to 85.1% of the monthly plan; accumulated output in 6 months is estimated at 5.76 billion kWh, equal to 57.2% of the yearly plan and 111.5% over the same period.

“It is forecasted that in the third quarter, there may be prolonged heavy rains, affecting coal and mineral mining activities. Along with that, the demand for coal consumption for electricity production will decrease, making the coal consumption market more difficult than at the beginning of the year,” said Mr. Vu Anh Tuan.

Therefore, to successfully complete the production and business tasks in the second half of the year and strive to achieve the planned growth target, TKV leaders require units to focus on implementing good storm prevention and control, continue to maintain production pace, focus on human resources and equipment to maximize output, strictly manage technical and technological indicators; ensure production, import, and harmonious blending of processing to meet coal needs for the market and coal for electricity production.
