Will revoke the 100 billion VND project located on the "golden land" of Thien Cam tourist area

13 years after the investment policy was approved, the Tre Nguon resort and spa project in Thien Cam tourist area (Cam Xuyen, Ha Tinh) is still unfinished. Some construction items have deteriorated, becoming a place for cattle to graze.

In 2011, the Provincial People's Committee granted an investment certificate to Tre Nguon Company Limited (headquartered in Hanoi ) to implement the Tre Nguon resort and spa project on an area of ​​1.7 hectares in Thien Cam tourist area (Cam Xuyen). The land lease term of the project is 49 years (2011 to 2060).

The project has a total investment of more than 100 billion VND, with a scale including an 11-storey hotel block, a 2-storey luxury spa area, a 2-storey luxury resort area, a 1-storey restaurant block, an outdoor sports field, a swimming pool and an entertainment area.

The investor committed that the project will be completed and put into use by the end of 2012. The goal of the project after completion will be to stimulate tourism demand in Thien Cam, meet the demand for high-end resorts, contribute to job creation and create budget revenue for the locality.

Contrary to expectations, at this time - 13 years after the investment policy was approved, the project is still unfinished when only a few bungalow blocks (a type of house with a compact area and relatively simple structure) have been built, along with some auxiliary items such as: yard, internal road, lighting system...

The main items, including the 11-storey hotel block, have not been implemented.

Some items were built, put into operation and welcomed guests by the investor but only operated at a low level and then stopped. Over time, the items have deteriorated, the campus is overgrown with grass.

Even at this time, the grounds of Tre Nguon resort and spa have become a place for cattle grazing.

Tre Nguon resort and spa, located on "golden land", is affecting the general landscape of Thien Cam beach - one of the beautiful beaches of Ha Tinh.

At the 17th Session of the 18th Provincial People's Council (from December 6 to 8, 2023), responding to questions from Provincial People's Council delegates on how to handle the Tre Nguon resort and spa tourist area, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Tran Viet Ha said: In the coming time, the industry will advise on completing procedures to revoke the project.

Speaking with reporters of Ha Tinh Newspaper on the afternoon of January 11, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Tran Viet Ha informed that the unit is actively coordinating with departments, branches, and localities to carefully review related legal procedures before advising the province on how to handle the Tre Nguon resort and spa tourism project.
