(NLDO) - A line of cars more than 2 km long jammed many roads leading to the center of Hanoi even though there is still more than a day left until the end of the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
There is still more than 1 day left until the end of the Lunar New Year holiday, but this afternoon, February 1 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), many people have returned to the capital Hanoi early.
From Yen So park to Phap Van intersection, a large number of vehicles gathered, causing traffic congestion.
According to records at the southern gateway, a queue of cars stretching more than 2 km long was jammed heading towards the center of Hanoi. The cars were moving slowly in a line on the Phap Van Expressway (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi), near the toll station.
To ensure traffic order and safety, traffic police, mobile police, and traffic inspectors have been increased in this area, regulating and diverting traffic from a distance.
Taking the initiative to leave early due to concerns about traffic jams, Mr. Hoang Van Hue (33 years old, from Nam Dinh ) said that the Phap Van - Cau Gie highway was very crowded, vehicles had to move little by little to move. It took him nearly 1 hour to exit the highway to enter Ring Road 3.
The leader of Traffic Police Team No. 14, Traffic Police Department - Hanoi City Police said that from the southern provinces to Hanoi, vehicles can follow the following routes: Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway to the city center; Old National Highway 1 through Phu Xuyen, Thuong Tin, Thanh Tri, Hoang Mai districts to Giai Phong - Ngoc Hoi intersection. In case of congestion at the same time in the above areas, vehicles can move from Van Diem intersection, Dai Xuyen intersection (Phu Xuyen district) to National Highway 6 (Nguyen Trai - Tran Phu - Quang Trung axis) - Ba La intersection, Road 21B - National Highway 38, or move on the left bank of the Red River to the center of Hanoi.
Vehicles lined up to return to the city center
The Hanoi City Police Traffic Police Department recommends that people should proactively plan their travel time and avoid rush hour at gateway routes.
Drivers must obey traffic rules, not drive under the influence of alcohol, not speed, and not overtake recklessly. Passenger vehicles must strictly obey traffic safety regulations, not carry more people than the prescribed number, ensuring the safety of passengers on the journey to the capital.
Transportation is difficult
Many ambulances also share the "fate" of traffic jams.
