Current Minister of Interior, Federalism and Reconciliation Ahmed Moalim Fiqi is appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Mr. Fiqi served as Somalia's Ambassador to Sudan and later as the Head of the National Intelligence and Security Agency from 2010 to 2013. He was the Minister of Internal Security of Galmudug State before becoming a member of Parliament and later serving as the Minister of Internal Affairs and Federal Affairs.
The position of Foreign Minister of Somalia has been vacant since former Minister Abshir Omar Haruse resigned in December 2023.
In addition, the Somali Prime Minister appointed Mr. Ali Yusuf Ali, a member of Parliament, as Minister of Interior and Mr. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail as Minister of Internal Security.
