SpaceX successfully launches 10th test flight of Starship

This test marks a new milestone when the giant Starship rocket successfully deployed Starlink simulation satellites for the first time through the experimental launch system.

SpaceX Corporation on August 26 conducted the 10th test flight of the giant rocket Starship, marking a new step forward after a series of previous failures.

At 123m tall, Starship is the largest and most powerful rocket ever built, taking off from SpaceX's Starbase facility in South Texas at 6:30 p.m. on August 26 local time (6:30 a.m. on August 27 Vietnam time).

Starship successfully separated from the Super Heavy booster before the booster landed in the Gulf of Mexico seven minutes after launch to test a new landing configuration.

Meanwhile, Starship's upper stage continues its trajectory toward the Indian Ocean, with the goal of performing heat-reentry tests, a weak point that has caused many previous flights to fail.

This test also marked a new milestone as Starship successfully deployed Starlink simulation satellites for the first time via the test launch system. In addition, the ship was equipped with new heat shielding materials and improved control wings to collect aerodynamic data.

According to SpaceX, the long-term goal is to develop Starship into a fully reusable vehicle that can carry people and cargo to serve NASA's planned lunar program in 2027, as well as realize billionaire Elon Musk's plan to send humans to Mars.

Despite multiple failures in previous tests, analysts say the Starship program still adheres to the philosophy of “try fast, learn fast,” which has helped SpaceX succeed with the Falcon series and Dragon spacecraft./.
