Re-establish the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City, operating from October 1

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture has six specialized departments and three public service units, officially operating since October 1.

At the thematic session (fourth session) of the 10th term of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, delegates unanimously approved the draft Resolution to establish the Department of Planning and Architecture on the basis of transferring a number of functions and tasks from the Department of Construction to the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Council resolved that the Department of Planning and Architecture is a specialized agency under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, performing the function of advising on State management in the field of construction planning and architecture.

Details of specialized departments, professional departments and public service units

The Department of Planning and Architecture will have six specialized and professional departments, including: Office; Department of General Planning and Digital Technology Application; Department of General Planning; Department of Technical Infrastructure Planning; Department of Regional Planning and Architecture (merging three departments including: Department of Central Urban Area Planning and Architecture; Department of Eastern Area Planning and Architecture; Department of Northern Area Planning and Architecture); Inspection and Legal Department.

Along with that, there will be three public service units under the department, including:

+ Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Construction Planning (on the basis of merging Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Construction Planning (before reorganization), Binh Duong Urban Development Planning Center and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Development Planning Center) is a public service unit that self-insures regular expenses - Group 2.

At the same time, transfer the functions and tasks of housing management, inspection and construction appraisal of the Binh Duong Urban Development Planning Center (organization, personnel, finance, assets, land and other related issues) to the Department of Construction for continued management and implementation of arrangements according to regulations.

+ Ho Chi Minh City Center for Planning and Architecture, on the basis of renaming the Center for Architectural Research and Planning Information of Ho Chi Minh City (currently merging the Center for Planning Information of Ho Chi Minh City; Center for Architectural Research of Ho Chi Minh City and the Construction Management Board of the City Planning Exhibition Center) is a public service unit that partially self-insures regular expenses - group 3.

+ Ho Chi Minh City Urban Development Management Board (on the basis of converting the original status of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Development Management Board under the City People's Committee into the Department of Planning and Architecture) is a public service unit that partially self-insures regular expenses - group 3.

Regulations on the organizational structure of the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City

Regarding organizational structure, the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City has a director and deputy directors; the number of deputy directors is implemented according to the decision of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Director of the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City decides or submits to the competent authority to decide on the appointment, reappointment, and dismissal of the heads and deputy heads of organizations, agencies, and units under and directly under the Department according to the decentralization of the City People's Committee, according to the title standards issued by the competent authority.

The number of deputy heads of departments and equivalent positions in the Department is implemented according to regulations. The number of deputies of heads of public service units under the Department and deputies of heads of departments in public service units is implemented according to regulations.

The main office is located at 168 Pasteur Street, Saigon Ward. The second facility is at 198 Bach Dang Street, Ba Ria Ward. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture will officially operate from October 1.
