Strengthening connectivity to attract more Singaporean businesses to invest in Ha Tinh

Within the framework of the working program in Ha Tinh , at noon on June 25, the working delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Vietnam led by Mr. Jaya Ratnam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore in Vietnam had a working session with the leaders of Ha Tinh province.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai received and worked with the delegation. Also attending were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Jaya Ratnam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to Vietnam thanked Ha Tinh province for the warm welcome to the working delegation.

The Ambassador emphasized that more than a year ago, the parties just started talking about the VSIP project in Ha Tinh, but today the investment steps have been completed and the groundbreaking ceremony has officially been held. It can be said that this is the project with the fastest investment preparation progress in Vietnam; this result is thanks to the close attention of leaders at all levels in Ha Tinh.

The Ambassador also affirmed that the groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP Ha Tinh project is the beginning of a new journey; therefore, Singapore hopes to continue receiving the support of Ha Tinh authorities in the project implementation process.

In particular, Singapore hopes that Ha Tinh will cooperate with investors to make VSIP Ha Tinh a model in the VSIP system in general; become a center for green and sustainable industrial development, and develop smart technology. At the same time, pay attention to the field of labor training, this is an important step to create an environment with high-quality labor to attract investors.

The groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP project continues to show that Ha Tinh is an attractive destination for foreign investors. Singapore wishes to cooperate in building a “Ha Tinh profile” to attract high-quality labor force and investors from Singapore. Singapore hopes that Ha Tinh will soon send a working group to Singapore to directly promote its potential and advantages, and call for investment in the locality.

Singapore will also soon organize a delegation of leaders and investors, especially young people, to visit, research and learn about the potential and advantages of Ha Tinh. Hopefully, the connection now and in the future will contribute to enhancing the relationship between the two countries in general and Singapore - Ha Tinh in particular.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai thanked the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Vietnam for its attention to Ha Tinh in recent times. At the same time, he shared about the potential and advantages of Ha Tinh to attract investment; especially the connectivity of the transportation system with countries in the region; the potential of deep-water ports...

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that with these advantages, Ha Tinh is the destination of many large investors. In particular, Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of more than 1,300 MW and a total investment of 2.2 billion USD will be operational by the end of 2024; 2 battery factories of Vingroup Corporation in Vung Ang Economic Zone with a total investment of more than 10 trillion VND have come into operation. In the coming time, Ha Tinh will also have electricity - gas projects and electricity - gas port warehouse centers...

In July 2022 and May 2024, the provincial delegation attended the World Cities Summit in Singapore. On the sidelines of the conference, provincial leaders met and connected with Singaporean partners and businesses to expand international relations, promote and call for investment and cooperation with Singaporean partners. At the same time, Ha Tinh also organized meetings and investment promotion in Japan, Korea, China and European countries...

Ha Tinh hopes to soon welcome a Singaporean delegation to learn about and survey the local potential.

Regarding the VSIP project, this is the fastest-evaluated project in Vietnam, showing that administrative reform in Ha Tinh has made a breakthrough improvement; all levels and sectors always pay attention and create maximum conditions for businesses and investors.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the Ambassador will continue to connect with Singaporean businesses so that they can learn about and invest in many projects in Ha Tinh.
