Thuan An Group withdraws from Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project

Thuan An Group requests not to participate in the contractor consortium implementing the bidding package at the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1.

This information was announced by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee at the press conference on the socio -economic situation in the first 6 months of 2024 organized by Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee on the afternoon of July 10, 2024.

"After receiving information that individuals involved in Thuan An Group were being handled, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee directed the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the unit authorized by the Provincial People's Committee as the investor, to invite representatives of Thuan An Group to work to determine whether or not to continue participating in the project construction," said Mr. Ha.

Afterwards, Thuan An Group responded that it would not participate in the consortium of contractors implementing package 2 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Construction Investment Project, Phase 1.

Therefore, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board and related units to find further solutions.

Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan said that the incident at Thuan An Group basically has no impact on the implementation of this expressway project, because this is a project with a capital of more than 21,000 billion VND assigned by the National Assembly .

According to Mr. Tuan, on June 13, 2024, the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa town approved the land price for site clearance compensation and proceeded to build the Ha Thanh resettlement area to serve the project construction process. Regarding site clearance, the assigned agencies are still conducting the inventory and compensation.

"The spirit is that this project will be completed by the end of 2026, early 2027. Only about 2 years left. So we are very determined," Mr. Tuan emphasized.
