Mr. Nguyen Phu Xuyen, Deputy Director of Nho Que 1 Hydropower Joint Stock Company, confirmed to Thanh Nien this afternoon, September 20, that starting from 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, September 21, the boats taking tourists on the Nho Que River will officially resume operations.
Today's meeting had the Vice Chairman of Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee, representatives of Meo Vac District People's Committee, Nho Que 1 Hydropower Joint Stock Company (the unit managing Nho Que 1 Hydropower Reservoir), and Tu San Agricultural and Service Cooperative (the unit operating boats on Nho Que Hydropower Reservoir).
At the meeting, Ha Giang criticized Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative for suddenly stopping boat operations without specifically reporting to the locality, affecting tourists and the image of local tourism.
From tomorrow, tourists will start traveling back to Nho Que River.
Previously, on September 19, the People's Committee of Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province, sent an urgent dispatch to relevant parties to restore the sightseeing route on the hydroelectric reservoir overlooking Nho Que river and Tu San canyon.
Specifically, in order to promptly serve tourists visiting, experiencing, and admiring Tu San canyon on Nho Que 1 hydroelectric reservoir, Meo Vac District People's Committee requested Nho Que 1 Hydroelectric Joint Stock Company and Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative to work to agree on a plan to continue transporting tourists in the hydroelectric reservoir. The results of the work between the two units will be sent to Meo Vac District People's Committee before 9:00 a.m. on September 20, 2023.
In addition, it is agreed to restore tourist transportation on Nho Que 1 hydroelectric reservoir, starting from 7:00 a.m. on September 21, 2023.
Any problems related to tourist transportation activities on Nho Que 1 hydroelectric reservoir will be continued to be considered by the District People's Committee to resolve within its authority and reported to the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee for timely handling.
On September 15, Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative suddenly sent a notice to temporarily stop transporting tourists on Nho Que 1 Hydropower Reservoir from September 16.
The reason given was that the People's Committee of Meo Vac district, the Cooperative and Nho Que 1 Hydropower Joint Stock Company had not yet agreed on a temporary management plan for inland waterway transport activities serving tourists within the Nho Que 1 Hydropower Reservoir. At the same time, the passenger transport contract between Nho Que 1 Hydropower Joint Stock Company and the Cooperative had not yet been signed or extended.
Therefore, in the past 5 days, tourists coming to Ha Giang have been frustrated because they have no means of transport to see Nho Que River and Tu San Canyon.
On average, each weekday, the cooperative takes about 600 tourists by boat, and on weekends from 1,000 to 1,200 domestic and foreign visitors.
