On September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. In the joyful atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, there were many poems in memory of beloved Uncle Ho. SGGP Newspaper introduces 2 poems by authors: Tran The Tuyen, Duong Xuan Dinh as countless feelings of love and remembrance of Him.
Following in His footsteps
The day Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence
Two rows of bicycles accompanied Him
Ba Dinh grass underfoot is cool
Which smile is like a fresh flower.
Eight decades passed quickly
Our people have gone through several sacred wars.
The army cheered the Dien Bien red flag with five-pointed yellow star.
Uncle Ho returned to take over the capital.
Twenty one years seems like a dream
The whole nation "Split the Truong Son range to save the country"
Independence Palace tank 390 appointment
North and South are one family to welcome Uncle Ho to visit.
Eight decades passed quickly
Southwestern border and northern border
“Gunshots echoed across the distant border sky”…
Eighty years passed
We returned to Uncle Ho's Mausoleum.
Parade, sea of people rolling like a waterfall
Wash away all hatred and separation.
Eighty years, we still listen
The Voice of the People in the Time of Nation Building
The sound of millions of people crying
An autumn to see Uncle Ho off.
That day, accompanying Him was not splendid with flowers.
Only bicycles and short khakis
Today we march as if entering battle.
Small guns, big guns, warships, planes…
Following in His footsteps
Ba Dinh Square today
A sea of people amidst splendid flags and flowers
Uncle Ho, do you see?
Green Ba Dinh grass in the blue sky!
TRAN THE TUYEN
Journey of the times
Our country in the long night of slavery
People are miserable and suffering in every way.
From Kim Lien village, the sad and haunting Giam tune
A heart full of gratitude for the homeland
When I left, I told myself I would come back.
What is the reason for living that burns at the age of twenty?
Empty hands, a patriotic soul
Still wondering about the questions in life
What is in your heart, Uncle?
Our country is deeply scarred
Where to go? Heartbreaking pain for the Fatherland
Seeking Independence, Freedom, the shining truth
That day was June 5th.
The sun dyed the water waves golden at the moment of parting
Only the train whistle to see them off
Nha Rong Wharf marks the departure
The stars are high in the blue sky and the ocean
It sounds like the soul of the mountains and rivers settles here.
Uncle passed away on a warm sunny day
Space filled with emotions
Saigon has a noon like that
Uncle carved the name of his homeland on this earth
The journey to the birth of a new era
Started from the barrel of the gun surrounding
Every minute Uncle Ho searched for the way to liberation
To the West, the land of colonialism
Everywhere I see people suffering.
And the unjust ruling corporations
Years of wandering broadened his horizons
Humanitarian thoughts of East and West, ancient and modern
The power of the people and human progress
People who absorb spiritual values
Still dreaming, but not just a dream
The homeland, called the Fatherland
The person who wants to embrace the vast sky
And hug and kiss every handful of earth and people
The man who became the great man of the century
Founding of a democratic republic
Still bright and innocent smile
Eyes shining with truth dazzled my heart.
