After the end of the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in the 2024-2025 school year, the Department of Education and Training received a petition reflecting that candidate CTH, exam room No. 6, Examination Council of Le Hong Phong High School in Bim Son town had average academic performance, but the entrance exam score for 10th grade of high school was unusually high.
The examination and verification showed that the test scores of the candidates on the name board and the score sheet did not match the scores recorded on the candidates' test papers. Specifically, the score on the name board and the score sheet for Math was 8.0 points; Literature was 8.5 points and English was 6.4 points. Meanwhile, the scores recorded on the candidates' actual test papers for Math were 4.5 points, Literature was 6.5 points and English was 2.4 points.
The Chairman of the Examination Council of Ngoc Lac High School has accepted responsibility and apologized to parents and candidates for the incident of mistakenly recording the score of candidate CTH, examination room number 6, Examination Council of Le Hong Phong High School, Bim Son town.
The Department of Education and Training Inspectorate also worked with the family, the Examination Council and the teachers directly involved and confirmed that there was no negativity in this incident.
After the inspection conclusion announcement, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province directed Le Hong Phong High School to re-organize the admissions examination for the Admissions Council. Accordingly, candidate CTH did not have enough points to be admitted to Le Hong Phong High School for the 2024-2025 school year and Le Hong Phong High School invited the representative of CTH student's family to send the result announcement.
On October 8, 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province issued a notice directing Ngoc Lac High School to organize a review of the responsibilities of officials and teachers directly related to the above errors.

After reviewing the responsibilities of the individuals involved, the council decided to discipline Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet, a teacher at Ngoc Lac High School, with a reprimand. Reviewing and drawing lessons from the staff and teachers at Ngoc Lac High School, including Mr. Vu Ngoc Liem, Principal of Ngoc Lac High School; Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh, Vu Thi Thuy, and Tran Thi Tu, all teachers at Ngoc Lac High School, Thanh Hoa province.
