Thanh Hoa will invest more than 700 billion VND to build 6 inter-level boarding schools in border areas.

The classroom area of Pu Nhi Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, Pu Nhi Commune, has just been completed and is ready to be put into use at the beginning of the new school year 2025-2026.

Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has issued Official Letter No. 13055/UBND-THĐT proposing a list of investments to build boarding schools for primary and secondary schools in the border communes of Thanh Hoa province. See the official letter here.

According to Resolution No. 1686/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 16, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Thanh Hoa province in 2025; in Thanh Hoa province, there are 16 land border communes, with 41 general education institutions including 21 primary schools, 17 secondary schools, 1 secondary boarding school for ethnic minorities, 1 inter-level primary and secondary school, 1 inter-level secondary and high school.

It is expected that in the 2025-2026 school year, the number of students in border communes will reach about 14,504 students with 594 classes.

According to the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, the 6 selected projects are all located in border communes with rugged terrain and difficult economic conditions, starting construction in 2025 and arranged in order of priority, specifically:

Tam Lu Primary and Secondary Boarding School located in Lang village, Tam Lu commune, was newly built on an area of about 6 hectares, with 39 classes and 1,013 students, with a total investment of 187 billion VND, making it the project with the largest scale and cost.

Tam Thanh Primary and Secondary Boarding School in Mo village, Tam Thanh commune will be renovated, upgraded and expanded, with a scale of 26 classes with 710 students, at a cost of 147 billion VND.

Na Meo Primary and Secondary Boarding School in Na Meo village, Na Meo commune will be renovated and expanded to accommodate 29 classes for 632 students, with an investment capital of 87 billion VND.

In Xuan Thanh village, Son Thuy commune, the project to renovate and expand Son Thuy Primary and Secondary Boarding School, with a scale of 30 classes and 750 students, has a total capital of 115 billion VND.

Yen Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School will be renovated, upgraded and expanded in Ban Bon, Yen Khuong Commune, with a scale of 38 classes and 962 students. Total investment capital is 90 billion VND.

In Can village, Bat Mot commune will renovate, repair, expand Bat Mot Primary and Secondary School and build other synchronous items to meet the standards of a boarding school for primary and secondary levels with a scale of 20 classes and 513 students. Total investment is 113 billion VND.

The province has assigned relevant departments, branches and units to determine priority criteria, from which to create a suitable investment list. For the two primary and secondary schools built next to each other, consider repairing, renovating, expanding, building additional dormitories, dining halls, kitchens, and other essential functional facilities according to the actual land area.

For two primary and secondary schools that are not built next to each other and are not too far apart, consider the possibility of repairing, renovating, and expanding one of the two schools to build a dormitory, dining hall, and kitchen; for each school, consider the possibility of repairing and expanding to build other essential functional areas according to the actual area.

For two primary and secondary schools that are far apart, consider expanding one school to build classrooms for the other school; build a dormitory, dining hall, kitchen; and other essential functional facilities.
