At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that each year has a different theme, but this annual event has had a profound impact on the attention of the whole society, aiming at a common goal of building a learning society, ensuring that all citizens have the opportunity to learn for life, equally and sustainably.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, entering the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 with artificial intelligence, big data, internet of things... knowledge and technology have become key driving forces for development.

In order not to fall behind and to contribute to building Ho Chi Minh City into a "Global Learning City", where knowledge-technology-creativity is closely linked to all activities of life, each citizen must actively self-study, learn for life, and consider digital transformation in learning and work as an urgent task.
At the same time, 168 wards, communes and special zones across Ho Chi Minh City also simultaneously organized the Opening Ceremony of the Lifelong Learning Week 2025. Thereby, continuing to affirm Ho Chi Minh City's determination in building a learning society - UNESCO Global Learning City.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded scholarships to typical examples in lifelong learning.
