Change of fees for changing and returning train tickets on the Northern route

Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said it is applying new ticket exchange and return fees after Tet, to make it more convenient for passengers traveling on the North-South train route.

Accordingly, from March, when exchanging individual tickets, they must be exchanged 24 hours or more before the train departs, the fee is 20,000 VND/ticket, and tickets cannot be exchanged within 24 hours. However, group ticket exchanges are not applicable.

For ticket returns, individual ticket holders must pay 24 hours or more before train departure, the fee is 10% of the fare; from 4 hours to less than 24 hours, the fee is 20% of the fare; less than 4 hours, ticket returns are not applicable.

Group ticket holders must pay 72 hours or more before train departure, the fee is 10% of the price; from 24 hours to less than 72 hours the fee is 20% of the price; less than 24 hours no ticket refund is applicable.

For individual tickets, discounts are applied when purchased far in advance, the time, exchange and return fees depend on the discount level. Specifically: discount level below 20%, time, and ticket exchange and return fees are as prescribed above; discount level from 20% or more, time for exchange and return of tickets 72 hours or more before train departure, exchange and return fees are equal to the promotional discount percentage.

Form of ticket exchange and return: Passengers who need to exchange tickets must go directly to the station and bring the original identification documents of the passenger or ticket buyer to the railway staff to complete the procedure.

When passengers buy tickets and pay online through the railway industry's ticket sales website, ticket sales app or train ticket purchasing apps of third parties (with email address entered), they can pay for tickets online through the railway industry's ticket sales website or go directly to the station.

When passengers buy tickets in other forms, or when buying tickets without entering an email address, and want to return tickets, passengers must go directly to the station and bring the original identification documents of the passenger or the ticket buyer provided to the railway staff. At the same time, the information on the train ticket must match the passenger's identification documents.

These ticket exchange and return fees are lower than during the Tet train travel period. At that time, the exchange and return fees depend on the train brand, travel date, and route, with the highest being about 30% of the price.
