Teacher Nguyen Viet Dung, Principal of Ngoc Phung Secondary School.

Through the story with the teacher, we seemed to relive the difficult period of the education sector in the old Thuong Xuan district 25 years ago. With the dream and ambition of bringing letters to the children in the highlands, in 2000, after graduating from the Faculty of Chemistry, college level, Hong Duc University, young teacher Nguyen Viet Dung was assigned to work at Xuan Cao Secondary School. The first days of coming to school were full of hardships, the school's facilities were still lacking, traffic was difficult, most of the students were ethnic minorities, living in very difficult circumstances, so the situation of students dropping out of school often happened. However, with love for the profession and children, the teacher and the school staff did not mind the long distance to the villages and hamlets to encourage and persuade parents to create conditions for their children to go to school.

In 2017, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung was appointed as Vice Principal of Xuan Cao Secondary School; in 2019, he was appointed as Principal of Ngoc Phung Secondary School. Mr. Dung always actively advises local authorities and authorities on building facilities and teaching and learning equipment; mobilizing resources to build and improve the green - clean - beautiful environment.

He also creates conditions for staff and teachers to improve their professional qualifications and skills according to the motto "Each teacher is an example of morality, self-study and creativity"; has a reward mechanism for teachers whose students have high academic achievements; and the school board regularly coordinates with the parents' association in student management and education...

With the efforts of teachers and the school board, in recent years Ngoc Phung Secondary School has effectively carried out emulation movements such as "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", "Two good", "Building a friendly school, active students", "Writing innovative experiences, scientific research", "Competition movement for teachers and excellent students at all levels"... from which the school's educational quality has always been maintained stably and continuously improved. The rate of good and excellent students every year is always above 50%; the rate of students winning prizes in provincial-level excellent student competitions is always in the top 2/18 secondary schools in the old Thuong Xuan district.

With his achievements, for many consecutive years, teacher Nguyen Viet Dung has been awarded certificates of merit by all levels and sectors and has achieved the title of grassroots emulation fighter. In 2016 and 2021, he was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for his outstanding achievements at work.
