Ms. Ho Thi Thanh Tinh (teacher at Nguyen Huu Canh High School, Dong Nai ):

Investing in infrastructure

I appreciate the innovative policies and decisions of the education sector in recent times, demonstrating a synchronous and progressive vision. In particular, organizing the opening ceremony simultaneously across the country has created strong cohesion within the entire sector, demonstrating a spirit of solidarity and consistency.

However, the implementation process still faces many shortcomings, especially in terms of facilities. Many schools have not met the requirements of the new education program, lacking classrooms and teachers, making it difficult for students to choose the subject combinations they want.

Organizing two sessions a day is also difficult in schools that lack canteens, dining areas or resting places for students, affecting the quality of study and health.

For the policies to be effective, I expect the education sector to step up synchronous investment in facilities, including classrooms, equipment, libraries, living areas and canteens. At the same time, it is necessary to supplement and train a team of teachers with sufficient numbers and solid expertise.

Management and supervision work needs to be carried out in a unified, scientific and feasible manner to ensure fairness and efficiency for all students, contributing to building a comprehensive and sustainable education system.

Ms. Ha Thi Kim Sa (Principal of Hong Ha Secondary and High School, Ho Chi Minh City):

Open procedures for private schools

As the principal of a private school, I also hope that non-public schools in general will increasingly receive more favorable conditions from state management agencies so that they can operate fairly and compete healthily with public schools in the field of education.

Non-public schools currently play a very important role: contributing to "sharing the burden" for public schools, attracting private resources to develop schools and facilities, and at the same time being a healthy competition for innovative public schools.

In particular, the non-public sector will contribute significantly to solving the problem of lack of schools. Therefore, I think the regulations to attract and invest in the education sector will be more and more open and transparent. One of the major bottlenecks is land. In big cities, allocating land for education will be relatively difficult.

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Dung (parent living in Nghia Lo ward, Quang Ngai):

Hope my child has a healthy learning environment

năm học mới - Ảnh 4.

When my child entered the new school year, I had many emotions in my heart. I was both excited to accompany my child on his learning journey, and a little worried because my child is in grade 9 this year, this is the last year of middle school, the stage when he needs to be properly oriented before making the important choice to enter high school.

As a parent, I always want my children to have a healthy learning environment, not only in books but also opening up opportunities for them to practice life skills, confidently express themselves and be responsible to the community.

I hope that the school and the education sector will continue to promote innovation and creativity in teaching methods, especially increasing the application of information technology. This will not only help to convey knowledge more effectively but also arouse interest and motivate students to develop their abilities, develop the qualities and competencies necessary in the new era.

Education expert Nguyen Thuy Uyen Phuong (founder of AI project for Vietnamese education):

Teachers will receive formal AI training

Entering the new school year, what I hope most is that Vietnamese teachers will have the opportunity to be trained and coached more systematically in artificial intelligence (AI). Last year, when implementing the project "AI for Vietnamese education", I witnessed the self-efforts of teachers everywhere.

Even in difficult conditions, many people still persevere with ChatGPT to prepare lesson plans faster or practice using Canva to create visual lectures.

That makes me very admiring, but also makes me wonder: we cannot let teachers forever struggle in the role of users.

I believe that in the context of AI increasingly penetrating every field, what teachers need is not simply a few more AI apps, but a solid foundation: knowing what AI can do, what its limits are, what its risks are, and most importantly, how to cooperate with AI as a partner.

Because if teachers only see AI as a machine to ask for ideas, students will also learn the same way. On the contrary, when teachers see AI as a colleague in creativity and teaching, students will learn how to dialogue and cooperate with AI, instead of just giving it orders.

My expectation for this school year is that there will be more in-depth programs designed to go beyond tool skills training. Specifically, it will build digital capacity, train the ability to exploit AI safely and effectively, and help teachers have methods to convey it to students.

I believe that if teachers are the first classroom of AI, then the whole generation of students will be led to grow up with technology.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Ly (Principal of Ho Chi Minh City International College):

Putting vocational education in its right place

năm học mới - Ảnh 6.

I think it is very important to change the perspective on vocational education and put vocational education in its rightful place.

It cannot be denied that the demand for human resources at the vocational education level is very large, even in many industrial and export processing zones... this demand is even greater than that of workers with university degrees.

And to develop a strong Vietnamese industry, labor skills and quality are key factors, in which the majority of labor comes from the vocational education sector.

Besides, vocational training institutions will need to be further motivated to innovate their programs, facilities and equipment to improve quality.

International exchange will also need to be focused on to be able to approach international standards. In addition, there is also the connection with businesses so that vocational training can have the best effect of linking with practical requirements.

Tran Duc Hai Nam (12th grade student at Nguyen Hue High School, Hue City):

Hope university admissions remain stable

Năm học mới với những kỳ vọng - Ảnh 6.

This is my final year of high school, so I am more aware of my responsibilities, especially before the high school graduation exam. First of all, I hope that innovation in teaching methods will continue to be promoted.

Besides, I also hope that students' timetables will be arranged scientifically and reasonably, so that we can both ensure effective knowledge absorption and have time to rest, participate in extracurricular activities and practice soft skills.

Another big expectation of mine is that this year's high school graduation exam and university entrance exam will be organized in a more stable, scientific and less volatile way than before, so that students and parents can feel secure and no longer feel confused or worried during this important period.

I also hope the school will organize more useful activities, from learning competitions to extracurricular activities, so that students have the opportunity to connect and practice.
