More banks increase interest rates, far exceeding the 6%/year mark

(NLDO) – Interest rates continue to increase today as some banks adjust long-term rates to the highest of 6.45%/year.

Indovina Bank (IVB) has just adjusted the savings interest rate for some terms. Specifically, customers depositing money for a 6-month term will enjoy an interest rate of 5.35%/year, for a 12-month term it is 5.95%/year. In particular, the interest rate will exceed 6%/year if depositing for 24 months or more and the highest is 6.45%/year for a 5-year term.

In addition to IVB, TPBank also increased deposit interest rates this December. Accordingly, the 1-month term interest rate was raised to 3.7%/year, an increase of 0.2% compared to before. The 3-month and 6-month terms are 4%/year and 4.8%/year, respectively. The highest interest rate at TPBank is 5.8%/year, applied to terms from 24 months.

In addition to increasing interest rates, to attract idle cash into the system at the end of the year, many banks also launched promotional programs to give gifts and cash in addition to increasing interest rates. Some other banks such as BVBank added 0.6% interest rate when customers deposited at the end of the year from 10 million VND, with a term of 1-6 months, raising the interest rate for a 6-month term to up to 5.8%/year.
