Lacking land fund, Binh Dinh plans underground space to develop tourism

(NLDO) - Binh Dinh province plans to plan two underground space construction sites in Quy Nhon City to invest in tourism projects and build service, entertainment, recreation and parking areas.

On the morning of July 11, the Office of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province announced that Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang had just signed a document agreeing to the policy of organizing a competition for design ideas for underground space planning in Quy Nhon city, and at the same time assigned the Department of Construction to be responsible for organizing the implementation.

Planned location for underground space construction in Quy Nhon City to invest in tourism facilities

Accordingly, there are 2 locations in Quy Nhon City that are expected to be planned for underground space construction proposed by the Department of Construction for study. Specifically, the first location is located in the children's park area with an area of ​​about 5 hectares; in which the North borders Xuan Dieu Street, the South borders Hai Au Hotel, the West borders An Duong Vuong Street and the East borders the sea.

The second location is located in Quy Nhon Square area, with an area of ​​3.61 hectares, bordered to the North by Truong Chinh Street, to the South by Tran Thi Ky Street, to the East by Nguyen Tat Thanh Street and to the West by Le Duan Street.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, based on the fact that Quy Nhon City's urban space currently has no more land fund, Binh Dinh province has set up a task to research more underground spaces like some advanced countries to build service works to serve tourism.

Underground space in Quy Nhon City will invest in service works for tourism; build service areas, entertainment, recreation, parking lots. Design ideas need to comply with the main nature of the project as a public park, in addition to the purpose of designing underground spaces, it is necessary to propose renovating the landscape of the existing park in a public direction, serving the community.

Regarding planning criteria, maximum construction of 5 underground floors. The planning idea is to build underground spaces below, not to build architectural works on the park.
