The top student in the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi is a student at a specialized school.

On the afternoon of June 29, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the entrance exam scores for grade 10 public schools in 2024.

Nguyen Hoang Minh Quan got the highest score - 48.5 points, including: 9.25 in Literature, 10 in Math and 10 in English. For specialized subjects, Quan got 8.25 in Math and 7.2 in English.

Last year, the valedictorian of the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi was Phuong Khai Minh - a student at Nghia Tan Secondary School - with 49/50 points.

Admission scores to grade 10 in Hanoi in 2024 are calculated according to the following formula:

- For non-specialized public high schools:

Admission score = (Literature exam score + Math exam score) x2 + Foreign language exam score + Priority points (if any).

- For specialized high schools:

Admission score = Total score of non-major exams (coefficient 1) + Score of major exams (coefficient 2).
