Accompanying the Prime Minister were Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Dang Xuan Phong and leaders of ministries, branches and localities.

At Coc Leu Church, Lao Cai city, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed respectful greetings, warm regards, and best wishes on the occasion of Christmas 2024 from the Party and State leaders to priests, monks, nuns, and Catholics nationwide in general and Lao Cai province in particular.

The Prime Minister affirmed that our Party and State always respect and ensure human rights, including freedom of belief, religion and non-belief, of all people; care for and create conditions for religious organizations and religious people to operate in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the law... At the same time, according to the Prime Minister, the more difficult and challenging times are, the more the spirit of great national solidarity is affirmed and promoted to respond promptly and effectively to emerging issues.

The Prime Minister said that in the overall foreign relations, the Vietnam-Vatican relationship has continued to develop positively and well in recent years and is being further promoted. The Prime Minister hopes that priests, monks and Catholics will continue to implement the Pope's teaching "A good Catholic is also a good citizen" with the spirit of "respecting God and loving the country" and the direction of "Living the Gospel in the heart of the nation to serve the happiness of compatriots" of the Vietnam Bishops' Council, contributing to building a rich and prosperous homeland and country and making the people increasingly prosperous and happy.

Emphasizing that our Party and State have no other goal than to firmly protect independence and sovereignty.   To ensure the country's rights, unity, and territorial integrity, and that all people are well-off and happy both materially and spiritually, and that each year is better than the previous year, the Prime Minister assigned tasks to Party committees, authorities at all levels, and relevant agencies to always closely monitor and grasp the situation and promptly support those in difficulty so that all people have a place to live, students can go to school, and the sick can be treated.
