At the private home of world chess champion Lai Ly Huynh, authorized by the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports Cao Van Chong and the working delegation awarded 200 million VND from the City People's Committee and 100 million VND from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to chess player Lai Ly Huynh.

At the award ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Cao Van Chong congratulated Lai Ly Huynh as the first Vietnamese chess player to win the world championship in the men's individual standard chess event.
This is the pride of Ho Chi Minh City sports and an honor for Vietnamese sports.

Thanking the attention of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the city's Department of Culture and Sports, athlete Lai Ly Huynh expressed his emotion and said that this is a great encouragement for the athletes and himself to continue to do our best to bring glory to the sports of Ho Chi Minh City and the country.

Previously in China, in the world chess final on September 27, athlete Lai Ly Huynh excellently surpassed the Chinese athlete to win the championship in the men's individual standard chess event.
This is the first time a Vietnamese chess player has won the world championship in the men's individual standard chess event.
