The report at the Congress showed that, in the past term, the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation has successfully completed assigned tasks, continuously innovated and developed strongly.
The practice movement is increasingly spreading widely; many domestic and international tournaments have been successfully organized, contributing to affirming the position as well as widely promoting the image of Vietnamese traditional martial arts in the international arena.
This congress is of great significance, with the theme “Solidarity – Innovation – Development”. Delegates focused on reviewing and comprehensively evaluating the results achieved in the past term, and frankly pointed out the remaining limitations, thereby proposing directions, goals and solutions for the 2025-2030 period.
According to the plan, by 2030 the Federation will increase the number of members, clubs, and martial arts schools by at least 30%; ensure that 100% of provinces and cities have a traditional martial arts training movement; fully promote the 18 prescribed martial arts exercises, and at the same time initially build a new martial arts system to improve professional qualifications.
Besides, the Federation also aims to diversify and improve the quality and identity of the content of martial arts competitions of schools and sects.
Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department - acknowledged and praised the efforts and dedication of generations of martial arts masters, coaches, and students, along with the cooperation of localities and all members of the Federation during the past term.
In an interview with Van Hoa newspaper , the new President of the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, emphasized: Vietnamese traditional martial arts is the crystallization of the nation's martial arts through thousands of years of building and defending the country, reflecting the nation's indomitable will, martial spirit and aspiration to rise.
Throughout history, traditional martial arts have not only been a means of physical training and national defense, but also a precious cultural heritage, contributing to the glory of Vietnamese cultural identity.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation for the 6th term with 46 members. In addition to President Nguyen Ngoc Anh, the Congress also elected Vice Presidents, including two Vice Presidents named Le Ngoc Quang, Mr. Bui Trung Hieu and Ms. Ha Thi Yen Oanh. In particular, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang was assigned to concurrently hold the role of General Secretary, continuing to undertake the tasks he had been assigned from the previous term.
With the orientation of expanding scale, improving professional quality, gradually moving towards professionalism and modernity, but still maintaining the spirit and traditional values of the nation, the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation, Session VI, hopes to continue to make positive contributions to the development of sports and culture, thereby building an advanced Vietnamese culture with a strong national identity.
