(NLDO) - General Secretary To Lam noted the construction of Lien Chieu port in the direction of application with multi-sector and multi-field functions.

On March 29, General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation made a survey trip to the Lien Chieu Port project and Da Nang Software Park No. 2.

At Da Nang Software Park No. 2, the General Secretary visited theFPT Corporation's high-tech and semiconductor R&D Center.

Reporting to the General Secretary, the leader of FPT Group said that in response to the call of the General Secretary and the Government on innovation, the group has been realizing comprehensive cooperation programs with the city in the fields of research, training, development of high technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors.

The R&D Center for high technology and semiconductor chips plays a role as a nucleus to promote innovation in Da Nang, creating an ecosystem connecting the startup community, gathering leading experts to research and develop technology products bearing the mark "Make in Vietnam - Make in Da Nang".

General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy when Da Nang City established another software park, contributing to the city's development goals.

The General Secretary emphasized the necessity of science and technology development and hoped that when the country is behind in science and technology, it must choose modern and advanced technology.

At the Lien Chieu Port project and the coastal road connecting Lien Chieu Port, the General Secretary praised the working spirit of the team of workers working at the construction site and asked the project management board, contractors, and construction units to make efforts to complete the project on schedule.

General Secretary To Lam noted the construction of Lien Chieu port in the direction of multi-sector and multi-field applications; research and careful assessment of environmental impacts; overall, long-term, strategic planning; and investment can be divided into phases; focusing on implementing traffic connection projects.

According to the Lien Chieu Port Project Management Board, the construction package for the shared infrastructure part of the project was started by the People's Committee of Da Nang City in December 2022, and is expected to be completed in November 2025. The implementation status to date has reached 77.5% of the contract value. The shared infrastructure part has been approved with a total investment of more than VND 3,426 billion.

The coastal road construction package connecting Lien Chieu port started in September 2023 and is expected to be completed in February 2026. To date, the project has reached 55% of the contract value.

On the same morning, General Secretary To Lam attended the ceremony to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang City Party Committee (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025) at Tien Son Sports Palace.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 28, in Da Nang City, General Secretary To Lam chaired a meeting between Party and State leaders with veteran revolutionary cadres, meritorious people, and outstanding policy families in the Central region on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
