Summary of Literature and Arts work in 2023 and deployment of tasks for 2024

(NADS) - On the morning of January 12, 2024 in Bac Lieu City, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations held the 3rd National Committee Conference, Term X, to summarize the work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024.

Attending the Conference were comrades: Tran Thanh Lam, Deputy of the Central Propaganda Department; Associate Professor, Doctor, Artist Do Hong Quan, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Dr. Doan Thanh No, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; People's Artist Vuong Duy Bien, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations ; Nguyen Minh Nhut, Director of the Department of Culture and Arts, Central Propaganda Department; and Vice Presidents of the Union, Presidents, Chief of Office, Editors-in-Chief of Central and local professional associations.

On behalf of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, there were National Assembly Delegate Tran Thi Thu Dong, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; Artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Association, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine; and Ms. Mai Thanh Nga, Deputy Chief of Office in charge.

Before the opening of the conference, the delegation offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Martyrs' Memorial (Bac Lieu City).

Associate Professor, Doctor of Arts, People's Artist Do Hong Quan and Artist Tran Thi Thu Dong represented the delegation to offer incense.

Comrade Phan Thanh Duy, Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee, delivered a welcome speech, highly appreciated the activities of Vietnam Literature and Arts and informed about some economic, cultural and social results of Bac Lieu province.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Nhut reported on the Central Steering Committee's orientation plan this year and activities until 2025. At the conference, there were 6 comments on the summary report and action plan.

Comrade Tran Thanh Lam, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, gave a directive speech.

Speaking on the direction and orientation of literary creation in the coming time, comrade Tran Thanh Lam highly appreciated the achievements of Vietnamese Literature and Arts in the past year, with many vibrant and diverse activities, actively participating in summarizing Resolution 23 of the Politburo, focusing on investing in promoting artistic works. Fighting against the wrong arguments of hostile forces, praising the beauty of the country's innovation, clear achievements in economic, cultural and social development such as the Vietnam Association of Artists, the Association of Writers, the Association of Musicians, the Association of Stages... He also informed about the policies and orientations of the Central Committee's activities in the coming time with many events, many great and important anniversaries of the country, which are great opportunities for literature and arts. The Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department expressed his hope that these policies will be increasingly concretized and better implemented by the Union, Central Literature and Arts Associations and provincial and municipal Literature and Arts Associations, so that in the coming time, when the country has many important commemorative activities, literature and art will contribute to the success of these activities.
