According to statistics, as of September 6, Ho Chi Minh City has reviewed and processed the issuance of identity documents and identification codes for hundreds of children with special demographics. Of which, birth certificates have been issued to 362 children; identification codes have been issued to 344 children; permanent residence registration has been granted to 201 children; citizen identification cards have been issued to 78 children... Currently processing 100 cases.

The examination, consideration and settlement of the issuance of birth certificates, identification codes, permanent residence registration and identity cards for groups of children and youth (16-18 years old) with special circumstances and risks in child support facilities and charity classes in Ho Chi Minh City are carried out according to plan No. 405/KH-HĐND in May 2024 of the Social Culture Committee of the City People's Council.

According to Mr. Cao Thanh Binh, although there have been many difficulties in the work of examining, reviewing and verifying to issue identity documents for special populations (children and teenagers) in the city, the relevant agencies of Ho Chi Minh City have quickly carried out this work, even during holidays.

This is to ensure the rights and best care of the City for these children.

12 paralyzed children were granted citizen identification cards .

Recently, on September 10, Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with District 12 Police to issue ID cards to 12 paralyzed children at Thien Phuoc Social Protection Center, An Loi Dong Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, to ensure their rights. of children in special circumstances.

These are all children with hearing and speech impairments, many of whom do not have relatives to care for or raise them, so the process of collecting basic information to issue ID cards is not without difficulty.

Proposing districts, towns, and Thu Duc City to continue reviewing children whose births have not been registered

On September 12, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Justice sent a document to the People's Committees of districts and Thu Duc City requesting attention and directing local functional units to review cases of children residing in the area whose births have not been registered.

Accordingly, from now until December 31, 2024, localities must ensure that unregistered birth cases are registered.
